Village Square Leisure Center

This City of Calgary Recreational facility was scheduled for Extensive interior upgrades and refurbishing. Calibre, alongside Stantec Engineers, completed the relocation of two major electrical water pumps for safety and aesthetic reasons that were situated on the top edge of the very popular dive tank. 

The renovation included the complete cleansing of all the pools, complex filtration systems, plumbing, electrical, millwork, repair and replacement of hundreds of broken or damaged tiles, and extensive regrouting due to excessive wear from years of high traffic with the general public.

Village Square Leisure Center

This City of Calgary Recreational facility was scheduled for Extensive interior upgrades and refurbishing. Killarney Aquatic and Recreation Centre

This City of Calgary Recreational facility was scheduled for Extensive interior upgrades and refurbishing. Calibre completed the construction of a newly designed reception area, administrative offices, change rooms, washrooms, pools, sauna, and public areas.

The renovation involved the installation of entirely new acoustical tile ceilings throughout most of the huge Complex, with plumbing, electrical, millwork, and the replacement of several thousand square feet of tiling and the regrouting of four pools.

A completely new high-end "Living Kitchen" displays for Wolf and Sub Zero was installed, and major alterations and renovations were made to the administration offices. Calibre applied for and supplied all building permits through to completion.

The work consisted of concrete scanning and cutting. Calibre used wet-cutting equipment to minimize the impact of dust in the showroom, which was of vital importance to the retail area. Major alterations to the sprinkler system using qualified CASA sprinkler fitters were accomplished. HVAC installers carried out alterations in both the showroom and new offices to accommodate engineering specifications.

Highly qualified carpentry expertise was required to carry out the extensive structural repair needed due to the existing rot from years of exposure to Canada's extreme climate elements. We removed and replaced all of the damaged end sections, including sealing and protecting the trusses from future exposure. The exterior work was carried out in extreme weather conditions with extensive use of aerial lift machinery.

Calibre employees are trained and certified for Fall Arrest and Aerial Lift.
